Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game
Description
April O'Neil, the reporter friend of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is trapped in a burning building! Kidnapped by The Shredder and his goons, Bebop and Rocksteady, he challenges the Turtles to rescue April from peril once again. Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello and Leonardo will need to battle their way through hordes of Foot Soldiers, and familiar foes such as the mad scientist Baxter Stockman, General Traag from Dimension X, and the evil alien brain Krang, before the final showdown with Shredder himself.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game is, as the title implies, a port of the hugely popular arcade game made by Konami during the height of the late eighties'/early nineties' cartoon's popularity. Depending on the version of the game, up to two, three or four players can take part in the action, and the game itself plays like a simplified Double Dragon. Loads of enemies assault the player (usually Foot Soldiers) - most of these are easily dispatched, but some of them are tougher and contain different attacks, like ray guns and knives. At the end of each level, players will encounter a boss (or, in certain cases, two bosses working in tandem, such as Bebop and Rocksteady).
The NES version of the game includes additions not present in other versions of the game: two entirely new levels: Snowy Central Park and the Dojo, and new bosses, including Tora, Shogun, and the fly version of Baxter Stockman. It also includes additional music tracks as well as even more variations of Foot Soldiers for players to fight.
